As the 2025/2026 fraternal year comes to a close, I would like to summarize some of the accomplishments for Council 8074. We conducted four pancake breakfasts, two pork chop dinners, and six fish fry’s. The parishioners were also very supportive of the Knights weekend which took place on 1/31 and 2/1. The weekend consisted of collections for our Council and a membership drive. As a result, our membership numbers have been great as our numbers continue to increase. We have 26 new members to date and are hoping to get to 30 before the end of this fraternal year.
Our work with the Crossroads Hope Academy is ongoing and we will continue to implement this program moving forward. Mentoring the boys in both of the two Crossroads locations and supporting their activities are goals in the future for our council.
The increase of faith related activities this year has been a positive result of this year. The council conducts the rosary before our general meetings which has been accepted and gone well. The Sacred Heart Icon Holy Hour held in October was successful and presented by Sacred Heart’s clergy in a most reverent manner. Closing out the year in late May with a three day retreat in Venice, Florida at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Retreat Center will be a great finish to the year.
In closing I want to remember Father Jerry who guided us for the past two years as our chaplain. Although we are still mourning his passing, we must continue to move forward in our lives with the drive and determination that he would want us to do. I personally want to thank everyone for all their hard work in the various activities and campaigns we underwent in the past year. These could not have been done without your help.
May we have a great fraternal year of 2026/2027 with the new officers coming on board soon.
