In the most memorable CUF exemplification of the fraternal year, four new Brother Knights entered into Council 8074 on 5/21. Jeff Whiteside, Ken Eitenmiller, Dave Clifford, and Gene Sheridan became new members. These four raised our number of new Brother Knights to 30 for the year which will qualify Council 8074 Double Star award for the first time in nearly 20 years. Brother Stephen Labbe participated in the 5/21 CUF to complete his transfer into Council 8074 and we welcome him as well.

Congratulations are in order to the twenty five Brother Knights who worked to recruit new members on Knights Weekend before and after Masses on 1/31 and 2/1. Chancellor Chris Shaw and Membership Director Larry Levendowski helped the prospective new Brother Knights make their way through the system of new membership. Lastly, the CUF team deserves a thanks for their efforts during this fraternal year. Therefore this was a stellar effort to achieve this prestigious award from the Knights of Columbus.

Our Spiritual Retreat
Seventeen Brother Knights from Council 8074 attended a three day retreat at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Retreat and Spirituality Center in Venice, Florida from May 18 to May 20. Father Greg Cleveland, the Director of the retreat center, served as the presenter during the three day session which included five presentations. One of the presentations dealt with considering how we experience and live out fundamental connections with God and subsequent frustration when these desires are not being fulfilled in our lives. Another session related to the correlations between our human friendships and our friendship to Jesus.
The retreat served as a great means of learning not only from the presentations from Father Cleveland. It also gave the participants the opportunity to spend time together and get to know each other better in an environment other than the normal ways in which we communicate. Everyone enjoyed the retreat experience and the chance to interact in this unique manner. The retreat center was a nice location and their staff was very accommodating to all of the participants.
