Heart to Sacred Heart

There are moments in the life of a parish that shine with a special kind of grace, and last Friday morning was one of them. I want to extend my deepest and most sincere gratitude to our Knights of Columbus for hosting the traveling icon of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on October 24th, when we came together for the exposition of the Blessed sacrament and benediction in the context of a holy hour.

To stand with Monsignor Hill, Father Olds, and nearly 100 of you in the presence of that beautiful icon was an experience of profound peace. The reverence, the prayerfulness, and the deep, sacred silence we shared during the Holy Hour was one of the most beautiful expressions of faith I have ever witnessed. As your pastor, I was so moved and felt completely united with you in our shared devotion. In that quiet sanctuary, our hearts truly beat as one before the loving Heart of our Lord.

Thank you to every person who came to pray. You brought the true gift—your faith. Let’s carry the peace and love of that holy hour with us into the weeks ahead, allowing the Sacred Heart of Jesus to continue to guide and bless our wonderful parish family.

With heartfelt gratitude and prayers,
Father Jerry Kaywell

Faith & Finance

November is Long-Term Care Awareness Month, a time to give thanks for the blessings in our lives and reflect on how we care for those we love. Like many of you, I became a Knight out of love for my family and a desire to grow as a better husband, father, and Catholic man. I also wanted to be a better protector. What Care Costs is a free resource that helps you see the cost of skilled nursing, home health aides, and assisted living facilities in your area and across the country. Visit whatcarecosts.com/KnightsofColumbus and enter sponsor code “KofC” to get started. Let’s help families focus on time together, not the financial burden of care.
